McLaren will make its India debut with the opening of its first retail outlet- McLaren Mumbai in October. The revered British marque has a long history with motor racing and unveiled the 12C in 2011 while earlier it made the famous F1 hyper car.

India would be the brand’s 41st global territory and every supercar it makes is hand-built in Woking, Surrey south of London. McLaren will offer its entire range in India right from the McLaren GT to the track focused 765 LT along with the 720S Spider and Coupe. McLaren will also introduce its Artura hybrid supercar in India in due course and it is the first such offering from the British marque along with being a step towards its electrification journey.

McLaren has appointed Infinity Cars as its first official retail partner in India and Infinity Cars shall operate the McLaren retail business under the McLaren Mumbai name.

Whether be it the Sports, Super and Ultimate Series families, McLaren is characterised by its carbon-fibre structure which brings in more lightness along with rigidity. The GT is a more comfort oriented long-distance grand-tourer (hence, the name) but it still uses a twin-turbocharged McLaren V8 engine with 620bhp. With 620 bhp, the GT is a fast car albeit a more luxurious one along with added practicality.

The 720S Spider and Coupe are more focused supercars with also a carbon fibre structure but, having a more powerful 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine with 720PS and 770Nm. Then there is the lighter and more dynamically focussed 765 LT with shreds weight and gains more power with 765PS and 800Nm of torque.

The newest offering from McLaren however, is the Artura which is the first High-Performance Hybrid supercar and it also gets a new Carbon Lightweight Architecture. Power comes in form of an all-new, 2,993cc twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine with 585PS while an e-motor adds in another 95PS.

With the entry of McLaren well-heeled enthusiasts in India have yet another option in terms of supercars.
